Dan Weedin
For Mayor of Poulsbo

Meet Dan: A Lifetime of Leadership in Poulsbo
Since 1993, I’ve called Poulsbo home. My wife, Barb, and I built our lives and raised our children here, and now get to enjoy watching our grandchildren grow up in this incredible community.
My journey in Poulsbo has been one of service, leadership, and an unwavering commitment to the people who make this city special.
A Legacy of Service
My passion for serving this community isn’t new—it’s who I am. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of leading, coaching, and working alongside the people of Poulsbo in countless ways:
- Coaching & Mentorship: From the basketball court to the golf course, I’ve been dedicated to coaching and mentoring young athletes at North Kitsap High School and in youth sports programs. Helping kids develop confidence, discipline, and teamwork is one of the most rewarding things I do.
- School Board Leadership: I proudly served on the North Kitsap School Board, including as President, ensuring our schools provide the best education and opportunities for the next generation.
- Poulsbo Rotary Member (Since 2002): As a proud Rotarian, I work alongside passionate community members to make a real impact through service projects and local initiatives.
- Nonprofit & Community Work: I’ve been deeply involved in volunteering at the schools and working in nonprofit efforts over the years, focusing on youth development, education, business mentorship, and community leadership.
Leadership for the Future
As a risk management advisor and strategist, business leader, and entrepreneur, I’ve spent my career helping organizations navigate challenges and prepare for the unexpected. I bring that same mindset to my vision for Poulsbo—one that’s rooted in reimagination, innovation, and investing in our future.
This city has always been special, but we can’t rely on the past to carry us forward. We need bold leadership that prioritizes smart growth, fosters economic vibrancy, and ensures that our kids and grandkids will have an even better Poulsbo than we have today.
I’m running for mayor because I believe in this community and its potential. My experience, my passion for service, and my deep ties to Poulsbo uniquely position me to lead us forward.
Let’s reimagine what’s possible—together.
What’s Important:
Safe and Connected Neighborhoods
Ensuring our city remains a safe, welcoming place for every resident and visitor.
Strengthening Our Community
Supporting local businesses and schools, enhancing public spaces, and fostering opportunities for all generations. This focus is especially important to me as the “next generation” of Poulsbo residents includes my four grandchildren who call Poulsbo home.
Smart Growth for Our Future
Balancing progress and preservation so Poulsbo thrives without losing its unique charm.
This campaign is about us—the people who make Poulsbo special. I want to hear your ideas, concerns, and vision for our city.
Together, we can build a stronger, brighter future for Poulsbo.
I invite you to join me on this journey by sharing your thoughts, volunteering for the campaign, or simply spreading the word.
Let’s make Poulsbo even better—together.
